This used to run in our city/area/state every night when I was growing up. I believe if something like this ran on every station on TV every night these days it would be referred to as "Socialist."

I'm not sure what this clip is about. Maybe I'm missing the context. I'm don't have any children and I don't see the connection with socialism. Also, I don't remember most of the 80s, not because I was on dope like everyone else but because I was really young :D

This is from the late 60's, when we had curfews. It was just an announcement that came on every channel at 10pm reminding parents to get their children home before curfew. I was always home at that time anyway. I was a good boy. People today on the "right" would call this the onset of the "nanny state" even though it had nothing to do with government forcing the announcement. At least not to my knowledge.

Wow, why was there a curfew? That sounds horrible. Forcing people to stay indoors after 10 is not socialism, it's oppression. I'm often not yet at home at that time.

It was for kids, of school age, if I remember.. I look at it as a sign that people cared about our youth. I think its a good thing.
