The War on Drugs is a sham, the biggest drug trafficker in the world is the US government. The actual purpose of the War on Drugs is to protect THEIR profits, the government HATES competition.

Sad... but yeah, definitely true. What's more is I hear so many conservative pundits who truly believe they're fighting a morality war regarding the legalization of marijuana - if they only made the connections.

Ha ha! This reminds me of a video game I played back in the early 90s known here in the States as Final Fantasy Legend II (SaGa 2 in Japan). When you're in Edo, you find that bananas (opium in Japan, but bananas are funnier) are outlawed, and there is a big disruptive gang of banana smugglers called the Hatamoto. You assist a detective named Hana (Otama) whose father had been murdered by the gang and who now wants revenge. As you investigate, you find that the gang has connections going all the way to the top, to the Shogun himself, and even farther than that.

It's an interesting commentary on the War on Drugs, IMO. :)
