Ask any black person if racism is a thing of the past, and the ones who will likely say to you racism us over either is secretly racist against their own or is not at the bottom of the totem pole.

The job market sucks for everybody, at least it does for me personally. Please don't tell me I'm "privileged" because of my race. I'm not sure Bianca White is way more identifiably white than Yolanda Spivey tho, the surveys on monster supposedly don't even go to the employer AFAIK altho I've been felt unease at the question as well. The way that blog post reads reminds of that Eddie Murphy skit from SNL in the 80s "White Like Me".

Because we whites don't suffer from racial discrimination, we go though life believing racism is a thing from past history. Then there are clearly those whites who quietly discriminate against blacks and other minorities in employment.

The U.S. government, local municipalities, and public universities all promote racism.

Why wouldn't white (probably Asians too since they don't get counted as a minority for some reason) people respond to these racists will similar racism ?

As long as human beings exist, there will be people who discriminate against others just because they are different. Racism is just one of many different forms of discrimination. I'm not saying it's right, but it would be impossible to eliminate it.

Racism does exist, but it is much more subtle than it used to be. You can't have signs like this any more.



And an employer has to be careful not to state that race was a factor in a hiring or firing decision. He just has to make up some other reason. It is next to impossible to win a discrimination complaint, unless it is extremely overt.

Hey guys, I know that I'm privileged and provide examples about how I'm privileged, but please don't tell me that I am! Acknowledging my privilege makes it harder for me to be a victim!

People with autism-spectrum disorders have a tougher time, too. If an employer thinks that I'm too weird, then the employer might select someone who appeared less weird, even if he was of a different race.

I never thought racism was only in the past. I didn't even know it existed until I was in 3rd or 4th grade when my mother told me. She always told us stuff and one of them was about racism and how black people used to get treated such as for slavery and being segregated and discriminated. I always found it stupid and never understood it. But luckily I have never met any racist people. I wonder if they are rare or just hidden because so many people hate racists.

Considering the massive disadvantages and still existing covert racism that many people of color face to begin with, what's wrong with giving them a handicap (a method to level the game, so to speak) like affirmative action? Saying affirmative action is discrimination against whites misses the whole historical and present context.

Probably the biggest misconception a lot of minorities have about white people is that they're all rich and gifted opportunities when the reality is that there are more poor whites than there any other demographic but I guess they actually deserve to be poor. This privilege theory is just absolute horses**t, let's replace white privilege with Jew privilege and they'd call it racist.
