Without having watched the video, my answer would be "it depends on the religion".

Last time I checked, Sikhism is the only major religion (with around 30 million adherents worldwide) which has gender equality as a specific core component of its faith. The Bahá'í Faith is also known for its emphasis on gender equality, yet membership of its supreme authority, The Universal House of Justice, is restricted to men (this is a rather minor restriction, though, compared to what some other religions can dish up with).

The scriptures of the Abrahamic Religions (not including the Bahá'í Faith), on the other hand, are not very encouraging when it comes to gender equality. However, more modern branches of existing religions like Progressive Judaism and (especially) Quakers are highly devoted to gender equality.

In large portions of the world the point is somewhat moot, however, as the primary foundation for gender equality is often not religious doctrine, but secular law.

I was an Orthodox Jew in New York, and I would have to say, men definitely had more fun.
If you enter a religious Jewish bookstore, you will see a big difference in the books that are written for men and women.
Books written for men cover a wide range of intellectual topics compared to the books that are written for women which only speak about modesty and childbirth.
On a holiday where everyone dances with the Torah in a big circle, gets really drunk, and basically is able to have a good time, the women are on a balcony looking like caged animals watching the men.
There are a lot of places in Hasidic Judaism where men are only allowed to enter. They have lower expectations for women.
It seems women always have the short end of the stick in this religion.

I made up my own religion that revolves around women so in my case, no. Other religions usually revolve around men and their urge to procreate.

I would go as far as suggesting that a major inherent purpose of many religions..in cultural effect..
are to control reproductive freedom..to some degree for both sexes...

But women definitely get the short end of the 'cattle' stick..

As moreover they are viewed as breeding animals..

Rather than spiritual animals...

For mostly one purpose..

Spreading their legs..only when instructed ..as such...

That's probably part of why the real historical man Jesus did not apparently have many 'fond' feelings for the structured
religion at that time..

He saw through the BS..and wanted things to be fair...

And of course 'he' was at least symbolically crucified for it..in recounted history....

Anyway..i've got a Muslim friend that is being ceremonially raped in her arranged marriage today..
as supported by her religion.. state.. and family...

And she really looks at it like her funeral more than marriage..so that speaks volumes to me..about
the true effect of some religions on women..but at least in the US..women get their rights..
if they wanna leave religions..that subjugate them like cattle...

And then there is female genital mutilation in some other countries..

And the long dresses..and cover up of women..in some existing fundamentalist religions in the US..

Not a good place for many women..in this world..that is for sure....

At least a few hundred million..or maybe a billion or so...

But with greater freedom of expression..and the burning desire for freedom..that is
an inherent human need..

I guess..eventually this will change..as Information Technology..is spreading the flame of freedom..

Like psychological warfare..seriously..intended as such by governments or not...

Freedom rings.

Oh and by the way..in my opinion..
overall..women can actually make better religious teachers..
than men..

simply as inherently for the most part..

just like in the male doctor's office..as opposed to female doctor's office..

they are generally speaking better listeners and nurturers..

in connection...

of the thing .. called..
love..

Which in my opinion..should be the main focus..
of all religions..

UN

LOVE..

OR THAT THING CallED
divine LOVE!
