Okay so we know it's there and it's inevitable, it will erupt one day. What I want to know is, why aren't engineers on this thing figuring out ways to keep it from erupting? With all the underground nuke detonation can't they use those things for this rather than blowing up people and contaminating continents? Seems like a worthwhile cause.
If you can create the Hoover dam seems like you could mine or explode away some of the pressure, at least to the point the eruption won't be as strong.

Super volcanoes are way beyond any technology we currently possess to stop them from erupting. Even if nukes could be used somehow, they would be like trying to pee on a house fire to put it out.

I hope it doesn't erupt any time soon, sort of stuck in colorado and don't really feel like dying of lava and lungs getting filled with volcanic ash, sounds horrible...but nothing I can do about it except hope there is some warning so perhaps there would be the chance of surviving...then again that may depend on my mood...

Okay some houses would need to be abandoned but that would happen anyway with the volcano erupting...
