Obviously, you're Jewish. I'm Jewish as well.

What made you think of going to Israel?

Have you got family there? What would you do there? Unless you have family there, you'd have to get a job there.

For the most part, Israel does have a nice climate. Especially on the coast.

If you do I'd be careful...From what I understand there's a lot of conflict in that region over all, Israel included from what I understand so seems like it would be fairly dangerous venture. Do you have family there?

yes, though i guess it's mostly concentrated in the disputed areas, like the west bank, gaza, golan heights...and Sderot in particular, like i mentioned is very near to the border to gaza. thus, very vulnerable to rocket attacks (of the qassam variety) and with lots of bomb shelters, perhaps other border cities share the same fate?

you still cannot be too careful. fortunately for the Hebrew-impaired, many road signs in israel are bilingual, or trilingual.

My Pastor had taken a trip to Israel a few years ago, and he reported that he had rarely felt so safe. There were armed soldiers everywhere protecting the lives of civilians. If anything, he describes Israel as an oasis of safety in an otherwise violent part of the world. He had also had close contact with Palestinians and Bedouins while there, and he described them as friendly, peaceful people; far different than the popular notion that they all are violent fanatics.

With all of the crap that's going on in the middle east right now, I'd stay the hell away from there. I don't want to be the next victim of an IED, or captured and executed on video by ISIS.

What are your reasons? Do you just want to move to another country? Why Israel?

Unless you have a specific reason such as family or work or school, there's little reason to move there.

Assuming he is Jewish, the current Israeli government is willing to pay generous subsidies to Jewish settlers from other countries that are willing to go there, and move into and near contentious areas within Palestinian territories. Given the current credit crisis and cost of property in the west, I could almost understand why someone would be willing to do that, assuming they could ignore the obvious moral and political problems this causes.

Have you been to Israel? Are you Jewish? Do you know anybody there? Did you like it there and felt safe? Did you prefer it to the US? If you answer yes, then sure go for it if that's what you want to do.
