'Deep national history of immigration predicts wide cultural comfort displaying emotion'

This seems to validate a post Ive made a while ago about average personality differences between America and the UK or just vs most other countries in general, and also a personal observation that Australians reminded me the most of americans in terms of personality or being outgoing or demonstrative or whatever term is the most accurate way to put it.

There are great apparent difference between the US and UK. In the small market town where I live at least, the West Indians have now settled in. They are part of us. We are less comfortable about other peoples coming in and that may include Caucasians.

There are practical problems such as lack of housing. Immigrants with children may demand public housing which is consequently not available to English people. Being English we are not inclined to comment publicly about this, or much at all.
