I'm not necessarily a pagan or wiccan but i respect their beliefs. The Wiccans I've known were sweet people who were accepting of other peoples' beliefs. They worship the earth and use spells to heal. Wiccans believe in something called the "three fold law". That means that every action you do comes back to you three times as much. It's basically a karma. I don't understand why so many people hate wiccans and pagans. First of all, they are NOT devil worshipers. They don't even believe in a devil. Why would people of one religion worship the bad guy from another religion?? According to biblical peoples, god created the earth. So why is it evil to worship something god made for us?? Pagans also tend to be sensible. I've never had one knock on my door early in the morning and hand me a brochure and say "Have you accepted the goddess as your savior?" And so what if they believe in a god AND a goddess?? I actually believe god is a genderless force, but i take no offense to them believeng in both a male and female deity. My opinion is that wiccans and pagans are just like the rest of us. Their are good ones and bad ones. However, i've read much about pagan and wiccan philosophy and have NEVER found anything evil or wicked about it. Nor have i ever read anything about devil worshipping. Could it be that biblical people are accusing wiccans as being devil worshippers the same way that for 2,000 years they have accused jews, muslims, hindus, buddhists and even catholics of being devil worshippers at one point or another?? At the very least, wiccans are harmless. They are usually just chubby red-haired women who care about the earth! jk.
I agree with you. I once cohabited with a Wiccan woman, was in love with her very deeply. I learned something of her religion, but not nearly enough to satisfy my exploding curiosity. The ways of the neo-pagan are so easily misconstrued as "witchcraft", "devil worship." Wicca seems so beautiful to me, yet because of my Catholic heritage I'd never have been completely at ease with it.
I do not believe that Wicca was ever sinister or evil.
