Republicans need to engage in dialogue with minority voters, you can't surrender all their votes to the Democrats and still expect to win or be able to say you represent the views of the American people. Rand Paul has made a significant effort in reaching out to the African American community and while I am a bit sceptical of Christie its still good to hear it addressed but now lets see him put his money where his mouth is and champion some issues that are important to the our African American as well poor people of any race. There isn't a single thing that Christie has said in the last few years that I can really say I agree with, he seems like the worst kind of Republican so his talk here to me seems like pandering.

If the Republicans have any sense, they'll do away with what Rush Limbaugh advised - forgetting about Latino and black voters, as they'll never vote Republican, anyway - and try to meld their party into something more appealing to minorities. Let's see if they're more honest about this than they were with gays, when George W. had courted gay conservatives with government posts, then gave in to the anti-marriage equality crowd.
