Loophole in Concealed Carry Certification!
You all know about this? In certain states, including this one, you don't need to take the required, hands-on, concealed carry classes to receive a concealed carry permit legally valid here. Just apply for a non resident concealed carry permit in the state of Virginia which only requires an online course, completed within 45 minutes and nothing checking the identity of the one taking the online exam at the end. After passing the test and applying, Virginia sends a concealed carry license for that state which is recognized here as well so voila, you are automatically a concealed carrier here without ever touching a gun.

Suddenly, the Utah Concealed Firearm Permit instruction requirements (the nation's concealed-permit gold standard) don't seem so chintzy, do they?

AZ Permit to Carry in the state of Utah.
Good. Concealed carry is good.
Because bad wo/men don't give a crap about the law. I realize it's an NRA bullet (no pun intended) talking point, but it's also the flat and simple truth.
And I really do believe that the best antidote to a bad wo/man with a gun is a good wo/man with a gun. I do wish that hands-on training were required, because the good wo/man is only useful if s/he has the gun and is fluent in its use...
...but I also wish that permit and training were a bit less exclusive to obtain. I really do.
I hope never to have to use it on anything other than a range target (or perhaps a fat, succulent, tasty squirrel). I hope never to encounter a mortally wounded and suffering critter or a rabid animal (two legged or four). I hope never to have to defend my person, my children, or my home, or raise/kill everything I eat.
But I'm counting down the 15 months remaining until I can have a firearm, and then I'm going to bite the bullet (as it were), get one, and learn to use it.

That's what the local media calls it so don't blame me!

if the media called people a slur name would you reuse it?
was going to get one since Washington doesn't' accept gorgons, but then that potential relationship didn't work out so I will likely never go to Washington or leave Oregon so it would be a waste of money.

Arizona has what it calls "constitutional carry", we don't need any license or training to buy or conceal a weapon in this state. There is no restriction put on those legally allowed to own a gun You can get a CCW for the purposes of carrying out of state. A lot of people open carry, which is totally legal as well. Gun culture is a huge part of this state, it would probably secede if it was ever seriously threatened and I think it is actually encoded in state law to rebel against the federal federal government if it ever abolishes the constitution, declares martial law, or confiscates firearms.
State sovereignty is a big thing in Arizona, we had referendum a couple years ago which I voted for which would of declared all natural resources with in the boundaries of the state of Arizona(including the Grand Canyon) to be under our sovereign jurisdiction. It didn't pass in 2012 but the legislature is still pursuing it and eventually there will be another referendum. The Cliven Bundy stuff hadn't even happened at the time of the last vote and its something that weighs on the mind on a lot Arizonans. Quite a few members of our legislature were actually in Nevada with Cliven Bundy during his stand off with the federal government.

I wasn't aware loophole was a slur but I know what the legitimate ones are and to answer your question, I wouldn't repeat any here.

Utah has tried twice (or three times?) to adopt constitutional carry. To the consternation of his Republican Party legislators, the governor vetoed it once and threatens to do so again. In other states, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, Maine, Vermont and Wyoming (for residents), constitutional carry has never been a problem. This fact might just convince Utah to do the same soon.

I think in my state, it's a matter of MONEY! They want people to spend hundreds on classes. Easiest way to do that is MANDATE them. I would recommend a class to ANYONE who plans on using a gun for self defense. It is essential to learn how to use it for your own safety if nothing else!
However, I do think constitutional carry is a legitimate right.
By this, the state shouldn't be able to capitalize on someone's second amendment right by charging for a permit.

What is funny about Oklahoma is that I believe they would allow me to carry a gun with just my ID showing that I am a resident of Arizona since they reciprocate constitutional carry in other states but don't have it themselves so you would need a license/classes/whatever. Kind of proves your point that its just a money grab.
So you are saying, just because you are automatic carry just by being a resident of Arizona, Oklahoma will let you carry based on that? Not so sure it works that way here. Pretty sure you have to have a license from another state or you must jump through the hoops if you move here.
Yes, it’s nothing new.
Been that way. You can still get the hands on class and it seems people prefer it because they want the hands on part of it. Our shooting range has had this class for several years and has no problem filling it.
And what evidence is there that this is this a problem?
This only further validates my valid assertion that you’re an anti-gunner. I don’t have to go back and find evidence when you provide a flowing river of it.
