Americans are driven to be career oriented and to work as long as they can, go as far as possible, and not be ashamed of what we can do if we apply ourselves and give it our all so why is it we shame our politicians so much for wanting the same thing in their political careers?

Senator Paul Ryan obviously is driven to be a politician and most likely wants to be one for as long as he can but there's so many negative nellies shaming ambition and tenacity in the political arena, he has to put on fronts instead of transparently declaring his ambitions and intentions. Why not just let them be who they are? If they want to be politicians for the rest of their lives, why make them feel bad about it? It's normal for an American to expect lifelong careers, benefits, job stability. That's just part of being American so why this faction trying to manipulate people into thinking it's bad? It's what being an American means.

Any politician should be able to express themselves honestly instead of kowtowing to this unforgiving faction that insists they shouldn't be allowed to have a career in politics or spend every moment at their job.

Because the American system was set up as self rule by citizens.

Term limits, the President, were a check on power.

Europe showed us many examples of those who infect the Court of the Ruler, the appointed, the son of, and it is why our House was set up with every 50,000 people getting a seat. All law starts in the House, and the House has the power of the purse, and the power to declare war.

It is supposed to be a citizen, a young family man who knows the needs of his fellow citizens, and the term of office was set as two years. It was not intended as the power of some rich family, Gore, Kennedy, Rockefeller, where the office passed through generations of the family.

Nor was it to be the other office of some Law Firm, that sold justice.

The intent was that The House would rule Government, the Rich, and the Law. Those to be ruled bought the office.

They could only do this by staying in office, and making seniority rules where those who are 92 and have been in office since their father had it have the most power.

Politics does have a career path, Local Office, State Office, National Office. Where one family has held the Clerk of Court Office for three generations, they are always rich.

Our system was set up with seats for the many, and higher jobs for the exceptional. No one should hold lifetime office. When the Supreme Court was give lifetime office, life was 42 years.

In 1913 the House was frozen at 435 seats, now each District is about twelve times the size, 50,000 then, 750,000 now. That act took the control from the People, and gave it to moneyed interests.

Repeal that Act, get the House out of Washington, the center of population is now Kansas, elect 5,000 to make laws for the people, and limit office to four two year terms. No retirement other than Social Security, no lifetime health care. Cut the pay to the median income. You want a raise? Increase everyone's income.

No exemption to the Law, such as Insider Trading. Perhaps for Slander and Libel, there are times to throw mud and see what sticks.

At 50,000 a box of paper and a laser printer could reach all, and speaking at schools, churches, local government meetings, can reach everyone in the District cheaply. A web site and running for office could be capped at $1,000.

No other donations allowed, but public donations to upkeep the House, which could be combined with The National Zoo, would be allowed. The Zoo Keepers would be in charge of the money.

5,000 @ $50,000 a year would cost half of what Wall Street pays in bribes. $250,000,000 Vs. $500,000,000.

The current cost of the House is excessive. $50,000 for a part time job, with a mileage deduction, is as good as it should get.

20,000 fenced acres in Kansas, would support thousands of buffalo, deer, wolves, and The House at the center.

Being in a Nature Reserve will remind them of the future they are to protect. Lobbyists can be fed to wolves.

After four two year terms they should be honored, then banished forever.

We need what the founders intended, a living government that is in the hands of the current generation.
