By Nicole Brown

A new poll finds that some Americans still question President Barack Obama’s religion and country of origin.

President Barack Obama identifies as Christian, and he was born in Hawaii. But according to a CNN/ORC poll released Sunday, 29% of Americans polled think Obama is a Muslim, and 13% think he was born outside the United States.

Forty-three percent of the people polled who identify as Republicans said Obama is a Muslim, while only 15% of those who identify as Democrats agreed he is Muslim.

Of those who identify as Republicans, 20% of them said Obama was born outside the United States, while only 10% of those who identify as Democrats said he was born outside the United States.

Americans still question President Obama’s religion

This is all pretty absurd. Any thinking person can tell that the president is an atheist.

The fact that a frighteningly sizable minority of Republicans think Obama is the Antichrist should make their fellow Republicans shudder.

The other part is, even if he had been born in Kenya, he qualifies as natural born the same way that canadian-born Ted Cruz does.

My question are who are the 15% of Democrats who think that? According to that poll, 29% of the whole country thinks he's Muslim, which seems high, but I live in Seattle, so I've never personally met such a person.

I said it before, and I'll say it again: Not all conservative people are stupid people, but all stupid people are conservative. (No, I'm not THAT liberal, I was always considered to be a moderate.)

29% seems to be the segment of the population that needs warning labels but can't read them.

I think 100% of idiots are idiots. Quantifying their number is impossible to do and is entirely subjective.

You haven't met many liberals, then.

I think perhaps there is maybe a segment segment of the population that associates their religion with their heritage since that is their only real connection to their faith and Obama's father was Muslim, he has Muslim name, his step father was Muslim, he spent a lot of his youth in a Muslim country so maybe it makes sense in that weird sort of way. I think there is probably overlapping segments of population that hates Muslims and also hates Obama and these people will throw any negative connotation his way. I bet if you polled this same segment of the population, these same people would say he's an atheist too.

Personally I think Obama is probably pretty skeptical of organized Religion like his mother, despite the Muslim heritage of his father and step father they were by all accounts not very devout so I doubt Islam was ever really a big part of his life if it had any place at all.

Yes, a liberal loves to brag about his degrees (30, still getting degrees, still at home, and still no job) and in the next breath without and even breaking his stride demonstrates how clueless he is.

That's nothing to brag about and if anything serves to validate my above reply, not that it needs much validation.

While his father had been raised a Muslim, he had become an atheist by adulthood.

...You should say , " who OWNS the main stream media " ?
And if that (going back to Nixon-Agnew)" Libs Tyran ically Rool " is so true , why did the Republicans win 7 out of 10 Prsidential elections in the 1968-2008 period , when the old " mainstream media " was far more dominant than it is now ?
And ~ especially regarding radio and TV stations~ if " liberal lies " so dominate the " MSM " , why didn't Republicans go after their broadcast liscences(Sp??) , as was their right to do under those stations' FCC liscences , an agency which they had control of during those 28 years ?
