Is it Politically correct to be ashamed of being Caucasian?

I just wonder this, because sometimes it seems to be politically correct you must be ashamed of being Caucasian as well as being heterosexual and take the blame and feel the burden all the racism and other crimes the Caucasian race has committed towards others. It seems stupid but it seems that way time to check my priviledge.

I am not ashamed to be northern European (Caucasian is something of a misnomer). I am not ashamed to be heterosexual. I would be ashamed if my actions besmirched either.

I've never owned slaves or adhered to that ideology.

Well? it seems I have to walk on eggshells all the time as a means of not offending anyone. If I even hiccup burp or fart someones offended, so yeah. I mean I am Caucasian too so that means I am a bad guy no matter what so being ashamed is the best thing to do.

I am of Irish descent, my ancestors were nearly wiped out to extinction due to the potato famine and slavery from the British. So I should be ashamed of that, nobody likes Irish people and were just a buncha drunks anyway incapable of doing anything useful and have to take the blame from other minorities for the actions of other Europeans simply because of the melanin level.

I've always wished I had been born blonde haired and blue eyed, however being of a Navajo/Italian mix, there's just no way that was going to happen. My best advice is to try and not be ashamed of anything you CANNOT change, and focus on that which you CAN. I've known a lot of Caucasians that simply avoid practising the modern WASP culture as much as possible, while still retaining pride in the positive elements of their ancestry.
FWIW, I think the Irish make some of the best cheese (as well as the liquid libations). Two of my best party buddies, Sean and Patrick are both of Irish origin. Good company for me as Native Americans are also sterotypically drunk all the time.

People are offended too easily.
If someone is offended due to you being you, it is their problem, not yours.

I am also a Caucasian; this is a fact and i have no opinion about it. I am not ashamed nor proud to be one, since there is no reason to be, your "race" (ethnicity) is just happenstance, a fact to be taken at face-value.

Political correctness is over-rated. Being ashamed of something that one is not responsible for is pointless, especially since nothing can be done to change one's ancestry.

If anything, you should be proud of your ancestry. Most of the greatest scientific achievements were made by Europeans and their descendants; and people of European descent are still leading the world in the STEM professions.

Which makes it funny to see Hispanics (~50% European ancestry) telling a "white person" of ~80% European ancestry , "YOU STOLE THIS LAND".

Has anyone met someone in person who wanted them to feel ashamed to be white, or didn't like them for being white? Or, is this something that the internet has told you is some huge problem? No matter how enlightened you think you are, if you immerse yourself in racist speech, and cherry picked race baiting news stories, it's very difficult not to absorb any of that. Damn internet.

What is this WASP culture I keep hearing about? I only know of maybe two kinds of wasps: The ones that sting really bad and a heavy metal band my brother and I saw on TV when we were younger. My brother said WASP stood for We Are Sensible People.

If I took seriously every claim on what I should be ashamed of, then I would have to be ashamed of being white, well-educated, male, straight, employed, affluent, a military veteran, married to an Asian woman, living in a nice neighborhood, and driving a foreign-made car.

I refuse to be ashamed of any of these things, and I really don't care what some classist, racist, sexist goober-brain says to the contrary.

... and I mean that in the nicest way possible.
