Personally, I find him hard to criticize because I don't even know where to start.

Classic Bully.

A lot of his support of his his support comes from other bullies whom because they are adults now or because of "political correctness"(That has gone way overboard but that is another thread) can't get away will bullying or have to make the effort to be a lot more subtle.

You can't look at him in a vacuum, he is better relative to the rest of the field save Rand Paul and maybe Bernie Sanders. I'm pretty sure Trump doesn't think Earth is 6,000 years old or that he can personally communicate with god unlike some other candidates, he's not a neoconservative and actually believes in diplomacy, I don't believe he's going to sell us out to the Chamber of Commerce. Who is the viable alternative?

I think he's a TV character and don't really take his public persona seriously, the guy says a lot of stuff because he isn't afraid of the consequences from the PC principles out there since he never has had to be and also the media is desperate to warp anything he says. I think his rise from joke to presidential front runner is fascinating and that the reaction that TPTB must mean he's on to something. Trump has been a real estate developer and mogul in New York City for like 50 years and I don't think you become as successful as he has without negotiating, compromising, and having a little tact when the time is right.

We have such reverence for our politicians in this country, are we really supposed to be a classless society? I look around the world and see the political dialogue in the other countries and there are lots of Trump machismo like leaders all over the world so I don't think he's that unique and Trump is a lot smarter than the surly pinko bus driver that is president of Venezuela right now. The reason why Trump can get away with the things that he has said is because he was at 100% name recognition before entering the race and he built his brand on being this brash go-getter, people aren't getting to know Donald Trump since they already know him and everybody that supports him are unlikely to be moved by him running his mouth since that is exactly what they like and expect out of him to begin with. People are angry and hate the political class in the country, they hate the complicit corporate owned media, the people are tired of being lied to and then being smeared by the elitist in this country for not mindlessly going along with their plans. Trump treats the politicians and the media with the amount of respect the public thinks they deserve.

Like we're supposed to show this special respect to the president, who is he? Is he a king? I thought we had THREE equal branches of government? Do they get so butthurt in the UK when somebody says something not nice in parliament? I've watched it a bit on CSPAN and I always find it funny. I remember all the phony outrage when some congressman yell you lie at Obama, well he does so why am I to be offended?

Personality is such a driver in presidential elections, the more dynamic charismatic candidate almost always wins. When was the last time that didn't happen? Calvin Coolidge 1924 maybe? The Democrats didn't nominate a viable candidate and the split their vote with Robert LaFollette running 3rd party.

Donald Trump and Susanne Atanus for president and vice-president, respectively ... A sure sign of the impending Apocalypse, if there ever was one.

Seems to be the "Year of the Stupid".

I'm glad Trump is giving the Republican candidates a run for their money. It's like finding out that the work-place bully you have to put up with finally targeted someone who deserves it. But like my real-life tormentors, I still wouldn't want him in charge of anything I'm involved with.

Disposition aside, there's the fact that he files bankruptcy when his business ventures don't go well. Also, its no secret that he inherited a great deal of wealth from his dad, he's been known to file lawsuits against people who publicly question how much money he actually made or actually has. I can picture how he'd handle another military adventure gone awry, just sue any media / reporters who step out of line. I think I'll pass.

He's an idiot, plain and simple.

I have zero respect for him and wish he would just go away.

Forget the lawsuits. Media reporters would likely be rounded up and detained for questioning, instead.

The fact that Donald Trump so openly and blatantly makes fellow Americans (Muslims, Latinos, and apparently now blacks) the enemy, and that so many of his supporters are eating it up, truly makes him dangerous.

I dread the society that the USA would become if Donald Trump were elected its president.

That's 14/17 against Trump around here, no surprise. If I had more time, I'd make a pro/con table out of everything brought up about him. He's been controversial ever since I've known about him, and I often hear "must be doing something right" from supporters.

He's been obviously nuts for years (since his birther days) before that, he was just obnoxious. I'm not very great at arguing in real-time, and ever since he announced a presidential run, people have been coming out in support of him. I just think if I made a pro/con summary of the guy, I'd be able to contribute to those discussions. Things like his hair or his personality aren't going to be as convincing as his inherited wealth, actual tax plan, and bankruptcies.

When the one you support is at less than 3%, bash Donald.

Trump is a reflection of the publics disgust with managed politics.

Some reality, Trump is running against Republicans, a party invaded by Christians against taxes.

Come the election, the issues will change, and none of that applies to what any of them do once elected.

Trump is the only one speaking about the problems we face. Obama has doubled the national debt, to $20 Trillion, and Sanders says he will double it again. Clinton has a long history of questionable deaths that benefited her.

Trump wants to abolish the current tax code, and start over with something simple. It is possible to cut taxes and bring in more money, enough to cover spending, pay down debt, by abolishing deductions. Carried Interest at 15% is tax sheltered ordinary income. There are many deductions that should end.

Warren Buffet and Bill Gates say the rich do not pay because of deductions.

Raising Social Security above the current $120,000 cap to $500,000, would bring in four times as much. We have an aging population, 45 million war babies retiring, and Social Security has an IOU from Congress.

The current political class, and government employees, who have a separate retirement and healthcare, only care about getting theirs from the public. No cost of living increase for Social Security, because they cooked the books on inflation.

Government stands for Government by and for Government. Their self interest comes before the national self interest, because they are the Government.

If the entire Department of Education was abolished, it would have no affect, they do nothing.

All industry reduced head count due to computers, Government employment went up. The savings were used to increase government.

Trump is self funding a run against Government, and for the people.

The way things are being done is not the only way.

We can Make America Great Again.

I remember America, in 1963 a Dollar was an ounce of Silver, there were jobs for all, and the pay was enough to have a house, car, non working wife, two kids and a dog.
