In the US black people are favored in job interviews and it's seen as positive discrimination. I call BS, there's no such as thing as positive discrimination, just like there's no such thing as positive bullying. Discrimination and bullying are bad, they shouldn't take place.
So, just because you're black or a woman(or both) doesn't mean you're entitled to anything. Nobody is. Get over it.
I wish people would understand that everybody should be held to the same standards.
In our US history, black people were used as slaves for centuries and they were owned by whites and also sold to other whites as if they were animals. Also after the slavery was outlawed in 1865, there was segregation and taxes went more to the white schools than to the black schools, white people had more rights than black people, black people were more scapegoated for crimes and more often executed for crimes they didn't commit, they were also segregated from places and from sitting on certain benches and using certain water fountains. This went on until the 1960's when the new law passed. So for centuries and decades, black people were treated poorly by whites so thus the reason why we have that double standard.
Women are more often abused by men than men are and men are generally stronger than women and women are more often raped by men than men are. This is my guess for the double standard.
I think black people are favored in job interviews because they are afraid they will be sued and be accused of discrimination. I don't know if they (black people) intentionally play the race card or not. But I agree that we should both be treated equally.
