NB: There are many many more proofs than those covered in this video, like Darwin's tubercle, gill slits,male nipples, etc... but it gives an intro to the topic at least.

I've often cited the lack of palmaris longus and my inability to waggle my ears as evidence that I'm more evolved than my peers.

Then, of course, you have that wriggly thing known as the Appendix.

Supposedly, it's merely a vestigial organ, from a time when man-like creatures were more vegetarian than they are now.

However, I believe that it might serve some purpose after all--similar to how tonsils were thought of as being extraneous. It is more likely that tonsils and adenoids serve to "filter" out infectious material and prevent them from entering the respiratory tract.

I have heard it alleged that the appendix serves a similar function, as a filter for infectious material.

I think you may well be on to something there Kraftiekortie. There's also a hypothesis that the appendix acts as a store for the "good bacteria" that we need in our gut flora for healthy digestion. The thinking is that if we lose our gut flora due to illness, it can be restored from a "backup copy" in the appendix.

Sadly even if you lay out the truths, facts, and evidence, religious people will still not accept it and plug their ears and look away as a means to stay faithful to their hard wired beliefs drilled into their heads since childhood out of fear of burning in hell for eternity!
