Do you ever question your faith? If you ever doubt it, is it in a, "I believe this, but it may not be true", neutral way, or a sad way?

Do you think that there's a chance that you're wrong?

If you've ever dealt with a personal crisis, did your faith grow stronger or weaker?

Finally, do you believe in God, karma, reincarnation, and the like, out of logic and reason or emotion, or both?

My faith came from the experiences and understandings I've had in my life, and , I believe, as a gift from God. Because my original training was as a scientist I am used to holding truths in the way a scientist would. So as a scientist I would rely on a well tested scientific theory as truth, but because of the way science works really that 'truth' is only our latest 'best guess' at how things work and new data might change that.

In the same way I am a committed Christian. I came to faith while reading the sermons of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In them I stumbled on an understanding of Christianity which I feel changes everything and has the capacity to mend the world. It was like a paradigm shift. Suddenly the whole of Christianity came into focus and I really 'got it'. (Basically it's about the power of love to win over hate.)

So, in answer to your first question, there is always room for doubt, but I don't fear it or feel sad about it because if my faith is true then digging into a deeper understanding of life and letting real data change my views will just bring me more truth.

Of course. It is my best guess and I'd stake my life on it, but I have been wrong many times in my life.

It grew stronger because the way love can heal and help and support when your in difficulties was practically demonstrated by my church towards me.

I believe what I believe from using all my faculties - from my logical brain to my scientific training to my emotions to my philosophical understanding of life and including all my experience of life too.
