Clinton camp accuses Russians of releasing DNC emails to help Trump Clinton campaign says Russian hackers are to blame for WikiLeaks release of emails showing the Democratic National Committee favored Clinton over Sanders in the primaries.

The quadrennial resignation of the Democratic National Committee chair works like a clock. Every several years before every presidential election, the chair resigns when a presumptive nominee receives enough votes to prevent all other candidates from challenging the nomination. The "interim" chair usually comes from within the nominee's longstanding campaign to combine the existing activities of the campaign with the party. If the interim chair wins the election for his or her nominee, he or she almost always becomes the permanent chair to help combine activities of the party and the transitioning administration for the next four-to-eight years. Even then, however, an unknown administrator is often teamed with the chair or serves as the chair because the role reverts to one of administrating, not campaigning.

Usually, however, there is no scandal precipitating the resignation and temporary replacement. Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been too much involved with outrageous statements for too long than administering her party in silence. Clinton probably sought to pretend "dismissing" Wasserman Schultz with the changing of the guard that comes naturally within the party. Besides, Donna Brazile is a longtime Clinton staffer. In other words, Wasserman Schultz's scheduled resignation simply added the baggage of scandal in the hopes that the voting public won't notice the difference.

Lol, well Hill-dog did a really bad job at that, seeing as how she immediately came out with a statement making DWS as an "honorary campaign chair"-- which makes it even more scandalous.

From the Hillary campaign:
Quote:
There’s simply no one better at taking the fight to the Republicans than Debbie–which is why I am glad that she has agreed to serve as honorary chair of my campaign’s 50-state program to gain ground and elect Democrats in every part of the country, and will continue to serve as a surrogate for my campaign nationally, in Florida, and in other key states.

I had thought that both Clinton and Wasserman Schultz would have let some time pass before re-teaming. Sheez. Clinton probably, therefore, wanted Wasserman Schultz in the campaign but not steering the party -- there is likely someone with money who has sworn off responding to the campaign so long as Wasserman Schultz is doing the asking. Mind you, I enjoy the implosion of the Democratic Party these last several years ... even if I spent many more years as a Democrat.

The DNC is clearly biased, and Putin is clearly biased towards Trump. Much of Trump's wealth comes from Russian investment. Conflict of interest?

That's all great and dandy. My concern is with Hillary's brash approach at a cover up-- just promote her, she's on my side! Sorry that s**t doesn't fly with me and leaves a rotten taste in my mouth. It's this type of crap that's going to cost her the election because Trump's accusations of "crooked" Hillary just got a booster shot.

FBI did say nothing was wrong with her emails, the golden poop on the other hand was bailed out by the Saudis twice despite raging on as if somehow he's never begged them on his knees.

Again, this isn't about how sleezy Donald is, there's numerous threads on that. This one's on the DNC, Hillary Clinton, and Debbie Wasserman Shultz. I don't care if they represent "my side": s**t is s**t, and it needs to be called out, especially if it's a "teammate" lest the s**t spreads and make the entire group a festering enflamed s**thole.

Edit: not enough s**t in my post, had to add another one.

I think the general point of this not being equal should also be pointed out - Trump refuses to release tax returns, but somehow the other party is lambasted just because there were leaks? Does the hypocrisy ever stop overflowing anywhere in sight? Republicans should release absolutely everything before they even say one word, otherwise it's just a stupid argument.

Completely different issue. This argument has nothing to do with Republicans, it has everything to do with the core beliefs of the Democratic party. The Democratic party has built it's brand on inclusion and progress-- this slaps those core principles right in the face.

The institution that runs an election should not be working for one of the candidates, it's as simple as that. It's the most basic of protections to ensure a fair election, without it one is merely running a puppet election as a 3rd world dictator does.

I really hope we don't ally ourselves with Putin more than is absolutely necessary.

Here is a site with many of the most scandalous e-mail messages:

http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2016/07 ... ument-dump

My favorite is about how the "we will fall on the political sword for you, LGBT Americans!" party operatives writing to each other "I love you too. no homo." Yeah, sure. Thanks for your feigned concern, Democrats....

Let's face it, the Democratic Party has been taken over by piratical haters who are in it for the cash.

How is Putin so much worse than the Saudis or Erdogan in Turkey?

Strategically the Russians are much better potential allies at this point, we need the Russians to destroy ISIS and they're close to the Kurds. Our relationship with Turkey is in terrible shape and you know who they're running to? The Russians, they are blaming us for this coup attempt and who knows? Needless sabre-rattling with Russia is exactly what we don't need right now, we do not need another Cold War.
