The border between NI and the south is possibly the biggest dilemma logistically, but this opinion piece argues that it may awaken the rumbling past, since division was the main problem... religion seems to still be problematic, but a physical border will obviously highlight the clear divisions.

Some stats:
Civilians killed: 1,841 (or 1,935 inc. ex-combatants)
Total dead: 3,532
Total injured: 47,500+
All casualties: 50,000+

So, I wonder if the cavalier 'Brexiteers' would be ready to die for their cause too now? (And I only read just a few accounts of individual incidents, but even those seemed to be the most sadistic murders... so, seriously, Brexit may have affected businesses most, but if this happens... let's just say there is more than a certain type of terrorism and Britain exclusively will be affected like it was in the past...)

Seems unlikely, those that funded 'the Troubles' were Irish-Americans and hostile foreign countries like Libya under Muamar Gaddafi during the 70s/80s. Gaddafi is dead, I think Americans are probably a little less apt to donate to terrorist organizations post 9/11, a united and free Ireland elicits more of an emotional response than membership of the EU. Ireland and the UK can negotiate their own borders, they don't need the EU, I think the fears are being overplayed by those with Eurocrat sympathies.
