People wonder why I haven't voted in an election in over 30 years?

Yet I'm accused of being a "nattering nabob of negativism," to quote Spiro T. Agnew.

I'm more than convinced that the concept of negative campaigning has had deleterious effects in the governance of this country.

I think it was Spiro Agnew who talked about the Nattering Nabobs.
