For all the talk I made about the election ~ I'm not going to vote now .
I am just so down about (as I have detailed recently) my money not coming in ,, and me likely not being even beginning to be able to repair my missing clothes/bedsheets situation until after the election , that at least I will have some control over my life in another way if I cannot make myself now look a LITTLE bit better ~ and not vote .
This rather parallells something when I was 20 or so ~ My mother forced me to vote on Election Day , I voted for a party I never would in retaliation ~ Later on , when I told a counselor about it , she said " Good ! " about my mother forcing me !
Because of that , I didn't vote for many years , because I was forced before .
Now ~ I just don't want to go to the voting place in these horrible beat-up shower clogs , all the shoes I have now - If I had the ability to get , bare minimum , the shoes and underwear , I would vote .
Now , as it now is ~ I won't .

That's too bad because it's the ones most in need who are often the most deprived of a voice, for whatever reason. You deserve to be heard.

Please, my friend, let your voice be heard, even if the ticket you most agree with is hardly agreeable.

I've been encouraging anyone I know whose disgusted with the presidential options to still vote for their district house and senate members, their judges, school board, etc.. and if they really have to write in anything from Vermin Supreme, Daffy Duck, or Ali G to just bluntly saying 'No qualified candidate' - the later is what I'm pretty sure I'm going to do.

Think about it this way - all the other people, tax issues and levies, etc. impact you much more than the president ever will.

Going to the polls in your present condition will send a message to both parties--who have observers whose job it is to watch who shows up at the polls.

I mainly voted because there are several propositions (local referendums) in my state (California) that I feel strongly about. As for the humans running for the offices I had available in my area, meh at best. The Congress seat is basically uncontested, there are state legislature seats that I have really no clue who the candidates are. As for president, CA does not allow write ins, so I voted for Gary Johnson (Libertarian Party). I personally think that the whole presidential race is a big setup anyway, like the real powers behind the scenes realized that nobody likes Hillary, so the only plausible way to have her "win" was to put an opponent who comes off as so crazy and bigoted that he makes H look saintly.

It might just be an Ohio thing but I'm lucky enough to have the ballots posted on the county government website. The format for me was http://boe.(mycounty)county.us/en-us/ballot-search.aspx. I'm hoping to do my homework tomorrow and avoid voting party line on these people - ie. I want to get some sense that the people I'm voting for have character and to the extent that all contestants for a particular slot are crooks I'll be sure to leave that particular slot blank.


That's messed up - sorry to hear that. Don't California and New York almost vote dead last in primaries too? Seems like the candidates are pretty much called by the time you guys get a crack at it.
