I found this quite interesting, particularly becuase we all come from different backgrounds, so we can look at groups we oppose through tinted glasses rather than objectively.

What she found is these people weren't nearly the pariahs she expected them to be and evaluated her own position.

It would be good to see her film. It is interesting that the hatches were bolted down when she tried to get funding from the usual sources. They were quite happy to fund her other projects, but wouldn't touch this with a badge pool even thought she said she wanted to be balanced.

Personally I never thought the "Red Pill" symbolism used to link this movement was that profound. Symbolism unlike normal metaphors works in the context of the movie or book, but outside it is a bit redundant. Few will admit that their idea are unrealistic. We can claim to be, but the proof is in the pudding so to speak.

Also given that social libertarians or social conservatives can all claim to be red pill, it is a bit of a one true Scotsman. The important thing is we are not regressing to the point that our rights are undermined. That is what is really at issue.
