Why is it taboo to talk about politics?

Why can't people discuss politics in a respectful way?

Also, do you think when most people talk about politics they are persuasively arguing instead of trying to find the truth and understanding?

I'm trying to find the truth;therefore, I'm listening to the other persons point of view and changing my beliefs if I think the person is right. Maybe that's why isn't "bad" to talk about politics is because most people aren't looking for truth they are reinforcing whatever serves their self-interest instead of looking at the greater good?

I think NOT TALKING about it reminds me of the rules an dysfunctional family systems: Don't talk about the dysfunctional person or problem. Not talking about it only creates more problems. I think more Americans need to learn about politics and how to discus them respectfully.

Teaching people to understand new concepts and ideas is largely ineffective.

Bullying and fear tactics are typically used because they have worked well in the past.

Perhaps the most effective thing Hillary Clinton has done to put gun manufacturers out of business has been to lose the election. Now that the NRA supported candidate has won, people aren't afraid about not being able to buy guns. So people aren't buying them like they used to.

Politics is simply the so-called «secular» word for Religion.
Political-Systems are Religious-Systems.
Political-Systems are Systems-of-Belief; just like Institutionalised Religions are Systems-of-Belief.
