I was able to get through this and they seemed to have a lot of good observations, not just about US but also global resource base and the phases/cycles that we go through. For instance there was a lot of talk about peak energy in 1970 and how with that persistently dropping off we've continued a downhill trajectory since then. I don't necessarily know that we'll be headed toward the dark ages in the formal sense but it sounds like our 'Fable of the Bees' approach to consumerism is running on vapors and as the Russian gentleman in the panel suggested by the end of the century the only natural resource that won't be scarce is bauxite for aluminum.
Not a particularly bright or cheery set of topics, ie. us trying to deal with a decline and fall of civilization here and around the world, but definitely interesting because when you think of the ramifications of how fast we're blowing through things we may have to turn to our own landfills for mining sooner than we might think.
