The Chinese trolls typically appear when internet discussions veer towards topics that are sensitive to the Chinese Communists--e.g., Tibet, Taiwan, Falun Gong. And, the Chinese trolls do offer a lot of comments under the China Uncensored videos.

The Russians have been much more insidious and successful.

The Russians are everywhere, including (probably) this site.

I've heard of other countries, like Israel and Iran, deploying trolls to promote their own national agenda. But, the Russians have had astounding success, in getting their boy elected in the US. At least French voters were smart enough not to fall for them.
