I know I always posted many threads about the end of the world, doom and gloom, and worrying about things. I'm beginning to wonder what our point is of living if there are certain scenarios like an EMP or nuclear war when we'll die, and it's all outside our control. I don't know if these will actually happen or not.

Why don't we have control over our own existence?

There are some things in you life you can control, and some things you can't. It is best to focus your life on the things you can control, while, of course, remaining mindful of the events that are outside of your circle of influence.

No, you don't know if they will actually happen or not. So why spend so much time worrying about things you can't control that might not happen anyway? Someday you will die. When you are on your death bed and look back, how are you going to feel if you had lived your entire life mired in worry over things that weren't worth worrying about?

Some people spent the turn of the millenium like this...

And some people spent it like this.....

How would you have liked to have spent it?
