...I just skimmed Arpaio's Wiki rwgarding the massive amounts of corruption and incompetence, at the very least, that took place during his time as Sheriff...including ignoring the repeated rapes of a " mentally disabled "
teenage girl (One of " us "?), entraping a teenage convict into setting up an entirely phony " assasination plot " which Arpaio "cracked " by arresting the entrapee in front of TV cameras, with the case against him thrown out when a nearly-impossible-to-get verdict of entrapment by Arpiao was reached in court, and setting up a bogus arrest of local alt- weekly owners who criticized him! (I imagine some conservatives feel
" That's the way to deal with that damned ol' libbrul meedja ", I realize
) That the " core American values...concerns " U talkin' 'bout, 'Homes? Those actions and many more like them led to humongous judgements against his department, which the county had to pay. It is nearly impossible to get a criminal conviction against a high-ranking cop, but do these many judgement/settlement-s indicate something about him - and his supporters? I never knew these until now. Yes, it's Wikipedia...the descriptions of these look pretty well backed-up.

"MaxE"]This action is entirely consistent with his campaign themes. In fact, I believe he honored Arpaio in person at a campaign rally in Arizona. I think it reasonable to assume tha'bout, t his core supporters would view Arpaio's conviction as a miscarriage of justice and in fact a show of disregard for core American values, and of contempt for the concerns of the average American.
You could almost say he might feel obligated (politically if not morally) to pardon Mr. Arpaio, whether or not you or I think Arpaio deserves it.[/quote]
