Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and former Trump campaign official Rich Gates, a long time business partner of Manafort's, were indicted today on 12 counts including, "conspiracy against the United States, conspiracy to launder money, unregistered agent of a foreign principal, false and misleading FARA statements, false statements, and seven counts of failure to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts." Also, former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos has plead guilty to making false statements to the FBI in connection with contacts that he had with Russian government officials. Trump and the White House are predictably distancing themselves from Manafort and going after Hillary and the Dems instead.

I bet Mueller will get Papadopoulos to roll over on Manafort for a lighter sentence, who then will roll over on Trump again for a lighter sentence.

Trump who bragged that he only "hired the best people" and who has the best memory in the world seems not to notice the incongruencies now, the best memory in the world seems to function very erratically at best.

He has turned the Whitehouse into a circus, a big top, the ringmaster and his dangerous clowns, and it saddens me to see the USA as divided as it is. If he fires Mueller then it will be decades before the USA reclaims the respect the world once gave it, in my view anyway.

The generally sane local radio station I listen to for traffic reports has been totally ignoring the federal charge of conspiracy against the US, although they are covering the indictment feverishly.

I'm not sure why the selective omission - as I said, this outfit is local and generally pretty sane. (Edit in: seven counts of nondisclosure of offshore accounts? FinCen is gonna do an Eliot Ness on this guy.)
