This sounds like the kind of thinking that Sam Harris would probably take Lawrence to task on as well.

eg.:
- why is NYC attack terrorism when Las Vegas wasn't? Race?
- don't more people die from falling coconuts and slips in bathtubs than terrorism?



It's really tough to come up with a connection as to how highly intelligent people can ask such questions unless we can take for granted that a) they really haven't thought it through or b) they have a gift in a very narrow range that doesn't extend itself out to general intelligence.
