"Fact check" appears to be "anti-Trump", not truly factual.

Recently, they said "Trump is lieing for saying that his tax cuts are the biggest ever".
see: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter ... -cut-ever/

However, it's self-evident, that a permanent 14% cut in the corporate tax rate alone is the biggest tax cut in US history.

Fact check plays games. They deceptively argue "it's only for 10 years", when in fact it's permanent. They try to use statistics to hide the truth, they argue "the comparison should be based on % of GDP", when in fact, that's not what Trump said.

Well no, Trump never offers specifics, just it's the biggest or best ever! The 'only 10 years part' is referencing the individual tax cut, which is indeed set to expire. Also, if you read the article they broke his 'largest tax cut ever' into both absolute adjusted for inflation, and by GDP, which was 10th and 4th respectively.

correction: 4th and 8th respectively (no coffee this morning, I've been groggy).
Quote:
He repeatedly and wrongly claimed the plan was “the biggest tax cut in our history.” The final GOP plan will reduce tax revenues by nearly $1.5 trillion over 10 years, which still ranks it eighth or fourth place, as measured by a percentage of gross domestic product or in inflation-adjusted dollars, respectively.

Trump is a guy who engages in "doublespeak" on a consistent basis.

We have to call him out on that.

Do you want telescreens in your home, telling you when to exercise?

Trump never said "this is the largest inflation-adjusted tax cuts".

Trump never said "this is the largest tax cuts by % of GDP".

However, I say they're wrong about everything, because they compare to tax cuts that expired or were rolledback . At some point in the near future , the accumulated loss in revenue from a lower 14% corporate rate will be the largest in history.

All I'm getting is that you want to cherry pick corporate tax rates as the sole barometer. How about looking at the whole picture like FactCheck did?

Is it not politically correct to call out some lies and the lying liars who tell them?

I don't believe some of the "lies" are outright "lies."

I believe at least some of what Trump says is based on ignorance (lack of knowledge), ignorance (an unwillingness to acknowledge evidence, leading to a change of impression/opinion), and a basic lack of depth of thought.

The difference between Trump and Reagan was that Reagan was able to be the "Great Communicator" because he acknowledged his lack of knowledge of certain things, and delegated that which he had little knowledge of to others.

Trump is unable to acknowledge his lack of knowledge, cannot delegate authority to those who know better, and is unable to see the logic in what others say if it runs counter to his "logic."

Poor folks don't know they're getting brainwashed. Anything anti-trump gets swallowed hook line and sinker.

What do you mean by this, specifically the bit about "poor folks"?

People in general who seem to readily eagerly go along with most anything said against Trump.

What I see is that I think you're viewing it as 'economics' and Ezra was using it as a commonplace phrase, example: "Poor folks just lost their home to a flood."

'Poor folks' being used in as an invective, as if they don't know what they were doing.

Oh haha I didn't see how that could have two meanings, and the latter interpretation is correct. And I am not all that serious when I make comments like that. I mean what I say, but I don't have adamant conviction about it. It was somewhat more anecdotal I guess (if I'm using that word right). Again as I said, I post spontaneously with what pops into my head at that time.

(I wrote a separate reply to that edit you made in the to be continued thread btw.)

Like if the "biggest" cut in corporate tax is a good thing...

Or maybe the truth just has an Anti-Trump bias.
