Hopefully, one day we wont need to actually go to college or university, anymore. After all, courses could be taken online instead.

I certainly hope not. Being compelled to function in groups made up of diverse people, and just living day-to-day on a sprawling campus crowded with thousands of other people was immensely instructive in and of itself.
I'd hate to imagine just how much more f****d up psycho-socially I would be now had I been able to opt-out of the whole experience and simply interact with a computer screen in isolation, like a solitary rat in a Skinner box; pushing a lever to get a food pellet.

I hope so too.

Of course, many people will still physically go to campus if they are given a choice.

One day, Colleges and Universities shall actually be obsolete.

Why is that a good thing?

People need higher education because people need an international perspective on things. In the public schools, they generally only teach you the history of your own country. In collages and universities, you learn about your country's place in the grand scheme of things.
