The debate of Calvinism vs Arminianism is sort of interesting, which I guess can be lumped under salvation but I hesitate to do so because it often times goes deeper into being a debate on determinism vs free will, which relates more to God, his plan, and how he relates to his creation. Really, I guess I would side more on the "God" side of things than on the salvation side of things because often the more interesting parts of theology such as views on morality, the problem of evil, and other things relate more to God's nature than any other division.

Sort of like predestination versus saying that God doesn't know who are His and that the future isn't set?

OR

Do you mean why evil exists in the world? Why things aren't perfect? Answer: sin and the curse.

Well, I tend to see that distinction as a necessity, that it either falls down to a plan or to open theistic beliefs, however, many people try to reconcile God's omniscience and free will.

Well, evil exists because of sin and the curse however, there does end up being a question about that. If God knows the future perfectly, then he would have known that Adam and Eve were going to sin and that his servant would betray him. This foreknowledge means he could have worked things out differently in some form or fashion but didn't, thus meaning that on some level God caused evil as he made the original choices that would lead to evil as Christianity rejects dualism and states that God created all. This might not be a huge problem because God's purpose is inherently unknowable, but it still is a problem.

All sorts of questions there as technically that why can move onto all questions. Why not just take it all the way back to why God created the universe.

Its called the nature of the universe, where there is good there must be evil. Your quest to purity is rediculous, primitive and impossible.

They THINK they know, I believe it is because they have been thought how things are suppose to be in their churches according to their dogmas, also the belief that the Bible is irrefutable, a direct "inspiration" from God, but, there was inspiration? yes it was, more like an inspiration any author has when writing any book or any other art form any artist does, more like that.
