Israel reaction to the Hamas May 14th attempt to breach the border brought near-universal disgust. What I have not seen are alternative ideas.

If you were the person tasked with IDF border policy on May 14th under the exact same circumstances what would you do differently and how would the outcome be different both for the protesters and the country you have been tasked with defending?
