The subject of trolls and trolling seems to come up frequently here.

There are several different species in the Troll genus. Many can be simply ignored; others have to be summarily executed.

Forums get boring without them.

According to this poll, so far it seems that trolls are desirable.
I thought for sure at least one of our more sensitive members would have selected the fourth option.

Trolls should be banned. Though that should be the final step after lesser measures have been ineffective. Sure if someone were to sign up and begin trolling immediately you could ban, as that would almost certainly be all they were ever going to do.

And by troll I mean someone who's goal is to be deliberately disruptive, who is "salt mining", not someone who has "controversial" views or the unintentional troll.

They make threads more interesting because of the debates and the drama and how people react to them. I tend to ignore them because I find them to be acting dumb and I don't really want to deal with stupid and someone who acts like they have poor reading comprehension or twisting my words. I just assume they are trolls rather than being that stupid.

I should also point out that the troll label is often misused here when one is experiencing butthurt that they are losing a debate.
