Not genetic evolution. But possible memetic evolution.

Ideas evolve in society and in culture.

Adhering to faith may have helped ordinary folks survive in previous centuries. So the belief in organized religion as a meme became selected for in society for that reason.

Today the meme is not as necessary for survival, so more and more individuals survive without it.

An opinion cast like a fishing net is not very convincing. The writer doesn't seem to understand that heritability and inherited genes are not the same thing. Huge assumptions and leaps. No, it wasn't worth reading and was a waste of my time.

It seems that any article linking a mere philosophy with allegedly advanced human evolution is simply not worth reading.

There was atheism in ancient Greece. The Bible would'nt say "The fool says, in his own heart, there is no God" if there weren't atheists back then.
