Question: Why didn't the Quran tell Muslims about the existence of the Americas? That would have taken history in a completely different direction!

I've observed that, in general, fundamentalists tend to know nothing about any religion but their own.

Every religion promises the same basic thing. All of them promise love and companionship. All of them promise a strict sense of right and wrong, so we don't have to think about it. All of them promise a personal connection with the divine, cosmic intelligence.

Once you have read about the different religions of the world, you will realize that there are only two sensible options. Either every religion is true, or none of them are.

After learning about what other religions believe, the only way to go back to fundamentalism is to cut yourself off from reality entirely. This explains who so many fundies do just that.

I've observed that a lot of fundamentalists don't understand don't even understand their own religion.

I've observed that many experts on the Bible are atheists. Whether they were atheists before they studied the Bible or they became atheists because they studied the Bible is still unknown.

Tell me where in the Bible Satan is called Lucifer and I take it back. The Jews know their book better I think.
