If you are a practicing Buddhist (Mahayana, Theravada, Zen, et cetera), would you please explain the inherent beliefs and doctrines of your religion, and how you personally practice it? I promise that I will not try to proselytize or convert you (I ask all others to do the same).

I'm not a Buddhist. But I'm fascinated by the idea of a rich prince going into the woods for awhile, learning asceticism, then emerging as a sort of a "prophet" type.

I regard Buddhism as just another religion that I reject for being unscientific.

Anyone who thinks that Buddhism is a religion of peace should read this.
