i'm just glad gianforte in montana got defeated. screw that guy.
Yeah, Gianforte was a real piece of work. His violence in body-slamming that
Guardian reporter was nothing short of evil. And Trump went to his district recently and paraded him and his violence as something to emulate. Apparently Montanans don't tolerate fascists.
And another one to get defeated was KKK (Kris Kobach of Kansas) for the governorship in Kansas. KKK was the one who initiated the major voter suppression efforts of the past few years. His defeat represents a body blow of its own, showing that efforts to suppress voter participation are not the popular thing to do, even among his fellow partisans.
Sadly, two GOP criminals have been re-elected to the US House: Duncan Hunter and Chris Collins. Both are under federal indictment, Collins for insider trading and Hunter for spending a quarter of a million dollars of campaign finance funds on his own personal purchases. Perhaps the House might reject their membership (which the House has the right to do). It's more likely though that the House will wait until they are convicted and then expel them. Both come from heavily Republican districts and their replacements would still be GOP, but at least not indicted criminals. Both of the slime were the subject of Trump's effort to corrupt the Justice Department with Trump whining that "“Two long running, Obama era, investigations of two very popular Republican Congressmen were brought to a well publicized charge, just ahead of the Mid-Terms, by the Jeff Sessions Justice Department. Two easy wins now in doubt because there is not enough time. Good job Jeff.”
