Since 1965, when Brown v. Board of Education, the Voting Rights Act, and the Civil Rights Act caused the 'Dixiecrats' to defect en masse to the Republican Party (and good riddance), racism has increasingly been the sole purview of the GOP. With the GOP's "Southern Strategy" of the presidential elections of 1968 and 1972, white supremacy became an integral plank in the Republican platform, and has been ever since. Everyone with more than an 8th Grader's grasp of American History and Social Studies knows this.

They were wearing white in honor of how in the early 20th century suffragists wore white in an attempt to grab the medias attention. White stands out. It was also one of the colors on their flag.

Regardless of what anyone thought of the content of the address, the one thing I'm absolutely certain of is, that barely literate, orange buffoon certainly didn't write a word of it, no more than he wrote any of his books.
