Bernie had his moment, but then fell back in line with corporate Dems. I have lost all respect for him. This is no time for half measures. He should have left the party, and continued the crusade.

It's certainly worth pondering if Bernie has "had his moment". If AOC was old enough to run for president, I would agree 100% that Bernie would be obsolete as I think many of Bernie's younger supporters would discard him for someone they would feel, based on age, etc to be more of a spokesperson for them.

I think leading up to the DFL primaries of 2016 Bernie was viewed by many younger Bernie supporters as a cool grandpa type who they thought had radically refreshing ideas. With the wave of younger very progressive DFL politicians with similar ideas, Bernie isn't as appealing.

I don't believe he has a chance.

He has lots of appeal---but his economic policies are impractical, and don't stand up to scrutiny.

Bernie is going to try to appeal to the altruism in Americans by openly seeking to raise taxes.

This will not work.

While I'm not going to count Bernie out yet, I think his age, and the fact that he had previously ran but failed, will be held against him.

I liked him in 2016 and I still like him. Hopefully we will recover the rust belt which is something Trump promised to do by bringing jobs back during his 2016 campaign run for president.

Bernie was ok with me (though most his economic goals are impossible) until he felt the need to out progressive Hillary by going super anti gun.
