I mean as if Trump cares about the poor working class american, so how does he end up with support from them. I mean my dad is homeless, been screwed by the system repeatedly been in jail ect. But he's falling for some of the right wing propaganda...and well they shove it out everywhere so granted some people are going to be netted in. I mean our system has screwed over people like my dad, and he thinks socialism would be bad. He doesn't even understand that a lot of socialists and people more friendly to that idea want to help people in his situation. Like I would like him to have a safe and healthy place to live out the rest of his life, I don't see capitalism getting him that. However with more socialistic type policies maybe people like my dad could have some help and get housing. But all that right wing propaganda is out there convincing people any kind of socialism whatsoever is evil, thing is it would help so many of the poor who are deluded into thinking Trump and his GOP will do anything for them.

since the 1830s when alexis de tocqueville wrote about us, he said the bulk of common folk thought of themselves as "temporarily embarrassed millionaires." that is why you have working class people voting for that orange obscenity and his crowd of obscenities. because they think one day soon they will be joining the ranks of those richie riches. that seems to be a durable bug in our national programming.

Part of it is the idea is we are permanently f****d so we might as well annoy and destroy as much as possible before we go down. Kind of like an army that knows it is going to lose a war but leaves behind as many mines and booby traps as possible. Trump by his presence is seen as the best person to do it. The more everybody screams the more they are convinced of this.

One of the problems of the modern Left is they have forgotten what the white working class is, instead betting on their migrant ringers to win elections. Worse, they think being working class is like being in prison - everyone in it is there either due to some character flaw or was screwed by the system - and everyone wants out.

Speaking in generalities:

-The working class does not want handouts. They want skilled real jobs, a fair wage and to be able to take care of themselves. Socialism is humiliation, not "evil".
-The working class prioritise their own communities over the working class of other nations. The days of "international solidarity" are all but over.
-The working class does not want to be middle class.
-The working class would like the nuclear family structure back.
-The working class despise criminals and have no sympathy for them whatsoever. Most would like the justice system to be much harsher than it is. Most support the death penalty, properly and swiftly applied.
-The working class wants their communities to be remain recognisable - this is why they are against immigration, competition for jobs is a secondary factor.
-The working class is smarter than you think and seem to have a better handle on the effects of free trade than most - mainly because they lived it.

That's why they worship took a shot on the "orange cheeto", the other side was the status quo - diametrically opposed to most of this list, and offered nothing but platitudes and "learn to code".

Some people prefer to vote with their "gut feeling" rather than make some cold calculation of what will be best for them.
I usually do well financially when the "conservative" guy wins even though I didn't vote for him. The past few years have followed the trend.

I think Labour has a problem in the UK trying to accommodate both its mainly socially liberal middle class supporters and its more socially authoritarian working class supporters.

I would ask the question, why does it seem a lot of middle class to upper middle class, college or university educated black conservatives vote for Trump? It crushes the Idea that it's done out of stupidity.

What I mean is, the black conservative may a low percentage, but they mostly all appear to be alot more educated than the people claiming stupid people voted for Trump.

I could also ask the question, why do a lot of leftists suggest that minorities cannot fairly make it in the US and completely ignore that fact that one of the smallest minority gruops, Asians, seem to make it just fine and generally end up being successful. When analyzing Asians, what stands out is cultural differences, parents strictly pushing their children to work and study hard, which completely crushes the Idea that you cannot make it in America by gaining a good education and working hard.

And, why do people insist we should 'sell' socialism to the American Society? Why do people not understand the basic principles of a capitalist country, the freedom for the individual to come up with an idea and form a business around it? Socialism crushes that ability. Why not just move to a socialist country?

Well, I think President Trump DOES care about the "poor working class American". I've heard/read, several times, about how he really enjoyed going to his dad's work sites, but that he was more interested in talking to the construction workers, than hangin'-out with his dad.

I don't think I'll ever understand people wanting Socialism. To me, Socialism is somebody (the government) telling people what to do, at every turn, and, basically, running their lives for them, and so-forth----why would ANYBODY want that? It seems they want the government to figure everything out, so they won't have to.
