Seeing the dumpster fire that is the United States at this moment, I'm glad to have been born north of the 49th. I just wish my online friends could move here, most of them are stuck stateside.

The way Canadians look down on Americans is why I will never want to move there. I dislike anybody who tries to make another country feel inferior. If anyone is going to criticize a country it should be their own country.

See I'm the polar opposite. I like the country itself, I just don't like the majority of the people here and I especially don't like our government.

America is a beautiful place and we're better off than some other countries for sure, but the government itself is pretty corrupt and incompetent and only a handful of Americans seem to realize this. And the American people's ignorance and arrogance is the worst.

People have every right to criticize any country they like. Two of the countries I have heavily criticized are indeed Norway and the US. It'd be ridiculous not to be allowed to criticize another country.

I'm not versed on the details, but from what I gather, he's allegedly "leaned on" the Attorney General not to move to prosecute SNC-Lavalin (whose CEO was under investigation for suspected bribery, I think) in order to supposedly save 9.000 jobs. So now he's under investigation for questionable ethics.

And you're wrong, it's not nice to be critical of another country. Every country has its problems and people should concentrate on their own problems, not the problems of other people.

Don't people get very offended when Americans talk about how horrible they think things are in Mexico or Iraq? Why should it be any different for people from the UK and Canada to criticize us? It's not as if they live here. Our problems are none of their business!

A few weeks ago I watched a commercial for a "furniture and gun store" where you could come pick out a new couch for the family, and load-up on ammo on your way out.

I remember thinking that I really wish I lived in a place where crap like this isn't considered normal.
