I don't think so. For one, the economic disparity is so vast and the resources of the few are virtually endless in comparison. For another, unlike in empires past, the few are not centrally located and can move fluidly anytime and anywhere. Ghosts in a sense.

If the global world forms a global government, it will most likely fall, like any other empire.
Empires are political beings.
Cultures are more fluid, they can transform and adapt. Globalist culture will likely survive but it will go through countless transformations and always develop local flavors.
Global economy will likely require serious transformations and adaptations but I don't see any reason not to remain global.

Is there a specific reason you think a globalist globe might fall? For that matter do you think there is a specific reason empires consistently fall?

There will never be a "world government."

We've tried this with the UN and the World Court, etc.

People, in general, will not go for globalism for many reasons.

"Globalism" is to "Imperialism" what a "Federation" is to a "Dictatorship". This concept includes the difference between cooperation and domination.

Globalism will never achieve the level of micro-management required to take over the world, but will continue to be a driving force behind world peace.

I don't believe "world peace" is an absolute pipe dream; but I believe it comes pretty close to being one.

It will take a LOT of effort from many disparate parties who have sharp disagreements in order to fulfill the objective of "world peace."
