There are only three types of people in this world.
The sheep: Your innocent hard-working civilian men, women, and children who are blissfully unaware of the true dangers around them as they live off of the food and care given to them by their shepherds.
The wolves: Your bloodthirsty and mavolent types. The dangerous criminals walking among us and the invading enemies of foreign countries who seek to destroy us. They prey on us like a wolf preys on the sheep, trying to sneak past the watchful eye of the shepherd.
The shepherds: Your monarchs, presidents, dictators, company CEOs, and religous leaders of the world. They watch over and guard the sheep from the evil wolves that wish them harm. They provide food and protection for the innocent sheep, but at the same time they raise the sheep for the purpose of being slaughtered as food and made into wool clothing. Like our real leaders they protect and care for their followers but they also take advantage of them too. They are both the defenders and the killers of the sheep.

America has plenty of times been the wolves trying to devour the sheep, as has every country that has accumulated military and economic power and uses them against weaker countries.
I'm too suspicious of religious, business, and political leaders to blindly depend on them to protect us from the wolves because they've proven themselves to be the biggest wolves of all.

I don't trust the shepherds of the world either, but they own us. They will always be in control of our lives.
And yes indeed one sheep's shepherd is another sheep's wolf.

I’m resistant to shepherds unless I agree with them.
At this point, I think I have enough sense to not be attacked by a wolf. Of course, I'm concealing a couple of ninja stars in my wool just in case.
