OK now the world is moving forward with regards to the great drug debate.
Here is my opinion on the subject.

Legalisation of Cannabis Globally.
Decriminalisation of all other illegal drugs, so no prison or expensive fine / court proceedings.
But referral to specialist drugs and alcohol doctor, who can prescribe high quality drugs for free on prescription (manufactured by government and sold without profit) as well as giving the option of referring to a rehab doctor.

This would in essence not only decriminalise the drugs, but would go a long way to separating drug use from organised crime. In essence, it would decriminalise society. As people who use drugs would no longer need to mix with criminals just to buy drugs.

I'd add - we need to get to know them and what they do, including 'for' us, so that we have the right frame of reference for their context of use. The puritan approach that the mind and imagination are the devil's workshop and that anything aside from being busy in some way externally is hedonistic and unbiblical just can't be our boiler plate approach to altered states of consciousness in the 21st century and the substances that evoke them.

I support full legalization of marijuana, but I can’t support legalizing any other drugs. However, the focus there should be on destroying the supplies, rather than punishments, in which sentencing is often contingent on the offender’s race.

As for global legalization, how would we get countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran on board?
