What if we prioritized nature over development and being *less* advanced were admired? Hippies would be the most popular people on Earth.

It would be a better place, honestly, because nature sustains us in the long run.

People would be living on top of each other, so other areas can stay green.

Are we talking Luddites, or full on anarcho-primitivism? Either way, not much good.

Roll back technology by 100 years and live without nuclear bombs, ballistic missiles, antibiotics, personal computers, an interstate highway system, television, the Internet, a Global Positioning System, organ transplants, dialysis, gender-correction surgery, lasers, microwave ovens, radar, video games, Post-It Notes, LED lighting, "talkies", digital cameras, thumb drives, MP3 players, 3D printers and pre-sliced bread.

Roll back technology by 200 years and live without internal combustion engines, automobiles, machine guns, dynamite, electricity, electric batteries, anesthesia, radio, airplanes, telephones, stethoscopes, soda fountains, typewriters, the Braille Alphabet, sewing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners, the Morse Code, staplers, automatic dishwashers, pasteurization, the tin can, movies, toilet paper, light bulbs, Coca-Cola, contact lenses, zippers, roller coasts and vacuum cleaners.

Roll back technology by 300 years and live without guillotines, steam engines, submarines, pianos, fire extinguishers, thermometers, lightning rods, dictionaries, sextants, chronometers, carbonated water, the telegraph, bifocals, parachutes, hot-air balloons, bicycles, steamboats, vaccinations, ambulances and flush toilets.

Just sayin'...

I like your way of thinking. That would be a very good idea for a much greener world.

Unless you're proposing massive genocide, the only way to go green would be with more advanced (and more efficient) technology, not less. We also need well-organized compact cities, with tall buildings and excellent public transportation, so that people don't have to travel far to their jobs, and so we can have more wilderness instead of suburban sprawl.

the earth will eventually be allowed to return to a greener natural state, with or WITHOUT US.
