Hi, I'm a long time lurker and admirer of this forum. After lurking for a while, I decided to post. Apologies in advance for any grammar or syntax errors, English is not my first language but I'll try my best.

I'll start first:
(The links that I will post in the next days refer to issues such as Identity, Meaning-making versus demoralization in a secular age, Right-wing authoritarians both on the Left and Right political spectrum, nationalism versus globalism and so on.
I'm sure that some of them have already posted, but even a repeat never hurts.)

Thaddeus Russell is a self-proclaimed 'renegade historian' who rebelled against the rigid, Victorian 'Liberal' mentality that he was brought up in. Here he points out some of the contradictions of the Left, some of which he views as originating from the puritanical or Lutheranian protestant ethic.

Sometimes he says things that imo are a bit too stretched, but he brings up interesting ideas.

Now those who are more conversational in Politics than I am, will immediately notice that this video is heavily biased (in favor of neoliberalism or corporatism). As I was told.

Nevertheless, it introduces concepts such as collectivism versus individualism; concepts which allowed me to start to understand the current political landscape.
