Year-long paid maternity leave. For breastfeeding women, it’s often really hard to pump at work along with other considerations.
I also am for paternity leave - maybe 6 months.
Hi Sunshine.
I understand you parents have it tough,
But as a single guy all my life,
I am not happy having to support parents through my tax dollar all my working life.
Other people having children is not my responsibility. <shrug>
My immigrant parents never had the parental perks the recent generations have.
There seems to be an attitude of entitlement these days.
I guess they made "them" tougher 60 years ago after the war when they had virtually nothing but the clothes on their backs.
Different times.
Different attitudes.
This is not an attack on you.
I always enjoy your down-to-earth common sense opinions.
And I have always appreciated/valued the added intelligence and maturity you add to these forum discussions.
I simply have a different perspective in some areas.
It's a "Generation Gap" thingie.

I’m going to be the fly in the ointment.
None of this is ever going to happen.
Why?
Because my generation (the boomers) have totally f!cked everything up beyond all recognition, to the point that we are no longer a representative democracy, but an authoritarian kakcopracy.
The country known as the United States of America is now so beyond hope it’s no longer saving.
Welcome to Mahagonny, where it is a capital offense to be poor, punishable by instantaneous death penalty.
I thought it was us self entitled Millenials who are to blame. Of course, you all are to blame for us, too.
Anyway, I don’t think things are THAT bad.
A bit of this,
A bit of that,
Life is not binary, bubelah. <hug>
