What did Trump hope to gain from asking the Ukraine to investigate Biden if it wasn't for his own political gain?

Not only can the Ukraine not prosecute Biden no matter what an investigation turned up, they can't even arrest him. The only country that can arrest Biden and put him on trial is the US and for that, we would have to do the investigation, not the Ukraine.

He promised to drain the swamp. How can he drain the swamp if he does not expose corruption?

Then let him expose the alleged corruption legally, without blackmailing, bribing, or otherwise coercing a foreign government to do his dirty work for him.

Trump probably didn't NEED to importune Ukraine to investigate Biden. Sort of an "overkill" sort of situation.

It's not the job of the United States to investigate corruption in countries other than the United States.

There are many really nasty people who are "not PC." I can name quite a few right off the top of my head.

I don't value a person, necessarily, based on the fact that he/she is "not PC."

I'm not PC. I hate "political correctness." But Trump is not someone I'm necessarily delighted with.

I just hope this impeachment thing doesn't backfire, and make Trump into some sort of martyr.
