The Reverend sure has had a public image makeover over the last few decades. That is a positive testament to the Reverend’s public relations skills, and it is a negative testament to seemingly everybody that has made Sharpton the de facto spokesperson for black people.
It is correct to criticize Trump for talking to anti-vaxxers, and listening to all sorts of quacks and kooks, but when Biden does it is acknowledging diversity. And if you are going to criticize Biden for making deals with racist Senators back in the day you should get on Biden’s case for regularly consulting with a race baiting blowhard.
For years democrat politicians have made corrupt deals with Sharpton to prevent boycotts and disruption. That is bad and that is politics as usual. But consulting with somebody like that on your vice presidential pick is a scary thought. It is even a more scary thought considering that the vice president has a better than usual chance of becoming President. It is still a scary thought even though Trump’s reelection is a more scary thought.
Biden is cruising to the nomination precisely because Democratic voters thought in unwise for the party to go too far left. That SHOULD have been a signal for Democrats to stop living in fear of and enabling counterproductive an dangerous elements in their party. Oh well.
